Sister to Kangaroo BakPak in Sydney, this cozy accommodation is based on the same great layout that has made Sydney so popular. When you walk into the building you will notice that it feels more like a home than a backpackers, and even the 6 bed rooms feel private due to several wall partitions. Security in the building is excellent: Each person has their own locker next to the bed with electrical sockets inside; so if your charging your laptop or iPhone, you don't need to worry about it when going for a hike.
Management lives on site for anything you need anytime, and because management wants a nice place to stay, Kangaroo BakPak Katoomba is a very clean comfortable hostel. The shower facilities are large and it is unlikely you have seen better ones in any hostel. We even have a bath!
We don't like the idea of charging more once you have paid for the accommodation, and so there are several things that are free that you would not normally see in other places:

There are events and festivals throughout the year like wine tasting or circus cabaret, and it has quite an active music scene with an array of astonishing talent. No cafe in the town is alike, you will walk into one from the 1920s and in the next you will be surrounded by eco friendly coffee and hemp clothing.
